Ready to face the new enemy: Springtrap? Play the game, keep this lethal animatronic away from your office, and stay safe every night.

Let's find out about the game

What is FNAF 3

FNAF 3, or Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, is the third entry in the famous horror FNAF series by Scott Cawthon. Unlike its predecessors, this point-and-click survival horror game introduces Springtrap, a single animatronic, alongside phantom hallucinations from FNAF 1 and 2. As a night guard, your mission is to survive 5 nights in the office without getting caught by Springtrap.

Overview

  • Game genre: Horror, point-and-click
  • Developer: Scott Cawthon
  • Release date: March 2, 2015
  • Mode: Single-player only
  • Difficulty: Ramps up through nights

Gameplay and Story

Set 30 years after the closure of the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza original restaurant, players play as a night guard in the horror attraction called Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction. Instead of the cast of animatronics, FNAF 3 has one real threat that can end your game: Springtrap. Freddy, Chica, Foxy, Balloon Boy, etc. just act as phantom animatronics that cause system malfunctions and jumpscares, not directly kill your character. If systems fail, it’s harder to track Springtrap’s position, and you may lose the game quickly.

Like the two prequels, the game has 5 nights (from 12:00 PM to 6:00 AM), each getting progressively harder. To survive, you have to track Springtrap’s movements across rooms and the ventilation system and draw him away using audio lures and sealing vents. Once he reaches your FNAF 3 office, the game ends immediately.

Characters and Animatronics

The cast of FNaF 3 characters is quite unique but not totally new compared to the prequels:

The Player: The night guard securing the attraction in 5 nights.

Springtrap: A yellow rabbit animatronic capable of ending the game (the single real enemy).

Phantom Animatronics: Freddy, Chica, Foxy, Balloon Boy, Marionette, and Mangle. They are from the cast from previous entries. They cannot kill the player but trigger system failures and terrifying jumpscares.

How to Play Five Nights at Freddy's 3 Game

As the power supply in FNAF 3 game is not limited, you no longer need to conserve it. However, phantom animatronics are another danger that can cause system failures. So, keep your eye on them, along with Springtrap, and be sure they can’t get close to your office.

Monitor animatronics using cameras

Constantly check cameras inside Fazbear's Fright to track Springtrap’s position, starting with CAM 10. Switch between cameras to monitor his path and be sure you keep track of this character; otherwise, you are in danger.

Lure Springtrap with audios

Audio cues (like a child’s voice) can redirect Springtrap away from your office. But don’t spam audio, as it can fail and leave you vulnerable. You should use it strategically by playing audio in a room far from your office, waiting for the animatronic to move toward it, and repositioning audio as he moves.

Seal vents quickly

It’s important to note that Springtrap can use vents to bypass cameras and reach you faster. Thus, if he disappears from normal cameras, quickly toggle the map and check vents while listening carefully for vent noises. Seal vents if needed to prevent him from moving further.

Fix system faults immediately

Errors in audio, video, and ventilation can take place at any moment. To fix them, open the maintenance panel (on the right side of your screen) and reboot only the failing system to save time.

Avoid phantom animatronics

Their jumpscares can cause system failures. Prevent hallucinations and avoid triggering them whenever possible by fast camera switching, avoiding direct stares (Phantom Freddy), and managing your office view.

Controls

Point and click using your mouse to switch between cameras and manage the systems.

Press space over the vent cam button to seal that vent.

Tips and Tricks to Survive the Nights

Want to last beyond Night 2 and more? These tips can help:

Use audio wisely. Do not waste them; instead, use those sound cues at key moments and positions to draw Springtrap away. Meanwhile, quickly fix the audio system if errors occur.

Prioritize ventilation. A malfunctioned ventilation system increases hallucinations, making survival more challenging.

Stay calm with phantoms. Again, they can’t kill you, but they will disrupt your systems, bringing Springtrap toward your room quicker.

Reboot strategically. Don’t spend time rebooting all systems unless necessary. Just focus on what’s failing.
